Is it Possible to Time Travel??

You might have thought about travelling in time. Just Imagine what if you would watch the dinosaurs, change your past and watch your future! All these fantasies could be possible if we can travel in time. It is astonishing to think about the time travel. What if you would prevent you parents to marry? If this happens then you are not in existence anymore. You hadn’t been born.

We have thousands of stories about time travel. Some stories have interpreted by our ancestors, described in various scriptures and some are myths. Science has its own theories to believe. Science has applied different concepts of space & time and the physics behind the time travel. Different scientists and mathematician has different theories to apply. The most prominent is the “Theory of Relativity” by the great Albert Einstein.

There are different theories about how to go back in time but the most efficient one & the simplest one is to use of “Wormholes”. If wormholes can exist, then it could be possible to go back in time. A Wormhole is a shortcut between time & space. It is a short tunnel which is used to link the different point in space time A wormhole may connect extremely long distances like billions of light years or more.

Imagine you have single sheet of paper. Consider that paper as a space. On that paper there are two different end points A & B at certain distance. Assume the distance between these points is billions of light years. Technically it would be impossible to reach there except you would have speed faster than light. In that case imagine you would fold the paper from the middle & create a wormhole from A to B then you could travel to other side in lesser time than the actual time.

The theory of relativity is based on two principles. The first is if you have two objects & nothing else then it’s not possible to tell which object is moving. The second principle is about the speed of light. Einstein explained that the Speed of Light is constant & independent of the speed of the observer, and that everyone is the universe, no matter how fast they were moving, the speed of light would be constant in every dimension.

Technically, we don’t have any proof of such thing like time machine to travel through the time in past or future. But some of scriptures has mentioned the incidents of time travel in ancient times. In Hindu mythology it is described about the story of Kakudmi.

Kakudmi’s daughter Revati was a very elegant & accomplished girl. When she reached a marriageable age, Kakudmi thought no one was worthy of her on the earth. So, they went to the creator, the lord Brahma, to seek the advice about a suitable husband for his daughter. When they reached, Brahma was listening to a musical performance. So they waited until the performance was finished. Kakudmi bowed & made his request to help him suggest the best man for his daughter.

The lord Brahma laughed and explained that the time runs differently on different planes of existence. In Brahma-loka (Where Brahma lived when they had waited to see him, 27 “Chatur-Yuga” (a cycle of four yugas, total 108 yugas. 1 yuga=100,000 years) had passed on earth. This concept is similar to the Einstein theory of relativity.

Different mythologies have different explanations about time travelling. But if you study any ancient scripture, all have included somethings which relates that the time travel is possible. Since our science has not reached such limits but may be in next 100 years it would be possible.
